Centaur CP Animation
This is the finished animation for this machine, didn't really get as much time as I've would have wanted but it's not terrible. Forgive the compression.

Other Stuff
Sometimes you start a project and somewhere along the line for some reason or another you loose interest and they never get finished. These are 3 of about many projects that I started a couple of months ago and made some progress and then stopped working on them for some reason I can't recall. I figured that maybe if I post these here it might inspire me to continue working on them. All these were started on Maya.
Have you ever seen "Bullit?" If you have then you'll recognize this Mustang.
This Street Alley was inspired by the famous old city architecture in Philadelphia. If you have ever visited Elfreth's Alley you know what I mean.
I have an affinity for modern design so I wanted to explore something that was functional and edgy. I decided on a modern condo because I though modeling modern items in a modern space would be fun.

Centaur CP progress.
These are just a couple renders form a freelance assignment I recently picked up and the reason why the Mary project is on hold. It's called the Centaur CP and I'm suppose to create a informational video on how it works. Check it out! This project is being executed in 3ds Max.

Mary River Turtle Project Post 14
It's been a while since I posted last but only until now I got around working on Mary again. This is the first render from Maya, with a defuse and normal map from Mudbox.

Mary River Turtle project post 13
Today I worked on trying to create a defuse texture from Mudbox but the computer wasn't cooperating so I decided to export the normals and see they would do on Maya. Haven't given up on creating textures on Mudbox, but since the beginning the plan has been taking the normals back to Maya to incorporate the grass growing off his body with Maya hair but we'll see how that goes.

Mary River Turtle project post 11
I reworked some of the detail I worked on the last post. I still got plenty to do but so far I've got some really nice results.

Mary River Turtle project post 10
Well this is starting to take some shape. I did a lot of detail and started adding some diffuse colors. For the moment I am experimenting, some things might change by the next post.

Mary River Turtle project post 9
First day in Mudbox and detail is looking good, I don't use Mudbox often so I'm working slowly and carefully. I still don't know how I am going to create the skin texture... I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Mary River Turtle project post 8
Finally! unwrapping the turtle's legs was tougher than I though, using the automatic unwrap for the paws was a mistake, but one I'm certainly going to learn from. The turtle is ready to be taken to Mudbox... I think.

Mary River Turtle project post 7
So I made the brilliant decision of unwrapping the turtle legs using the automatic mapping, not the smartest move. It's taking me forever to unwrap the legs and the nails but I should finish it by the next post.

Mary River Turtle project post 6
Got the torso unwrapped but haven't gotten to legs yet. I'm seeing topology wherever I look so that means I need break. Hopefully my next post will feature the fully unwrapped mesh of the body.

Mary River Turtle project post 5
The process of unwrapping the turtle shell wasn't as much of a pain in the beHIND as thought it'd be, mainly because it's such a simple piece of mesh. I do believe the body of the turtle will give me plenty of headaches though.

Mary River Turtle project 4
Progress on a dampy day. Let's see, fixed topology on both meshes and added little details here and there, pretty minimal actually... Oh! and mirrored the geometry, that's important. One more thing to do before Mudbox, and that's unwrapping, the more tedious of all 3d arts. But I am not really in the mood for that, and the weather is not helping either.

Mary River Turtle project 3
Time for the daily update. I finally got around attaching the head to the torso and I spend sometime working on the overall topology. I also worked on the shell and gave it some simple shaders for presentation purposes. Even thought the body and the shell mesh need some work I like the fact that its starting to take shape... at least half of it is.

Mary River Turtle project 2
Time for the daily update, this is progress on the turtle torso. This is only minimum detail, or just enough, to take the mesh to another software package, such as mudbox, to do detailing and texturing... but that's later on. I haven't decided if the torso and the shell will be separate meshes or not, I guess I'll know by the next update.

Banksy=Brilliant
I wish there was a better link but Fox has managed remove them due to a copyright claim.
Mary River Turtle project 1
I am working on a 3d model of a Mary River Turtle. It's going to be my first project created out Maya (3d software.) I am posting my progress to assure myself that I will see this project through within a month, I figure it would be kind of lame if I say I am going to finish something and then don't follow through. The following is just a screen capture of my progress. I mostly concentrated on head detail and the beginning of the torso. More previews coming up.

Alvarisms!
At least once a month I create these cartoony illustrations of myself and things happening around me. I call this "Domestic violence... after a smart ass remark."
